Do you enjoy listening to jazz, but feel that you'd like to expand your musical knowledge even further?
Are you totally "new" to jazz and you'd like to discover what it's all about?
Welcome to Laura's brand-new Jazz Appreciation & History Course!
These one-on-one Zoom classes are designed for adults of any age - and you don't need to be a musician!
Weekly classes are 30 minutes in length (choose from the 4-week or 8-week session), and will cover topics and concepts such as:
-guided listening (via Zoom screen/audio sharing)
-what to listen for, such as song structure, rhythm, instrumentation,
melody/improvisation, harmonic structure, groove/style, and more
-understanding and following the "form" of a piece of music
-jazz history, such as specific time periods, styles of jazz, and musicians/albums
-live demonstrations at the piano, as needed
